Loading and Shipping

The Association has reached a deal with a freight company (ICAL) for the transfer of scooters to Iraq. A shipping container would be prepared and set up in a safe, appropriate way that ensures the scooters would arrive at their destination unharmed. Volunteer carpenters are usually involved to set up wooden frames inside the container, not only for safety reasons, but also to construct multi-levels scooter loading frames in order to fit as many scooters as possible in the container each time. Also, mechanic members or other mechanic volunteers are also get involved for final inspection and maintenance of the scooters.

In addition to the search, inspection, purchase and transfer of the scooters, the Association, via its active volunteers, also provides the most needed spare parts, including extra batteries, battery chargers and other equipment and tools. For this purpose, the Association has, for instance, established a good level of contact with a battery factory in Adelaide for the provision of the required amount of batteries that need to be sent with the scooters at each time.
